Utah Housing CEO Grant Whitaker Named Secretary/Treasurer of the National Council of State Housing Agencies
October 29, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Grant S. Whitaker, President and CEO of Utah Housing Corporation (UHC), was elected Secretary/Treasurer of the National Council of State Housing Agencies (NCSHA) at their Annual Conference held in Orlando, Florida, October 20-23.
The National Council of State Housing Agencies (NCSHA) is a national nonprofit, nonpartisan association that advocates on behalf of Housing Finance Agencies (HFAs) before Congress and the Administration for affordable housing resources. It represents the HFAs of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, New York City, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Membership also includes more than 300 affordable housing industry partners.
Whitaker has served as President and CEO of Utah Housing Corporation since January of 2009. He began his tenure with UHC in 1979, acting in various leadership capacities over his 33 years with the corporation. UHC’s innovative solutions have been an earmark of his administration. Prior to UHC,Mr.Whitaker worked for the Housing Authority of Salt Lake County. Whitaker also acted as chair of the Utah Governor’s Housing Advisory Council, and was previously an active member of the Board of Directors of NCSHA.
Mr. Whitaker is dedicated to improving the local and national affordable housing and business communities by undertaking roles in several capacities. He currently serves as a member of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce Board of Governors, as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Utah Community Reinvestment Corporation, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Community Development Finance Alliance.

Others elected to NCSHA officer positions were Brian A. Hudson Sr., Executive Director and CEO of the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency, as President, and Thomas R. Gleason, Executive Director of MassHousing, as Vice President. Both previously held executive officer positions at NCSHA and are long-time leaders of their respective HFAs.
